This Privacy Policy applies to the ATS Resume Tailor AI Chrome Extension (hereinafter referred to as "the Extension"). By installing and using the Extension, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. Our primary goal is to provide resume tailoring and optimization features while respecting your privacy.

2. Permissions and Data We Collect

The Extension is designed to collect the absolute minimum amount of data necessary to function. To provide its core features, the Extension requests the following permissions and access, justified below:

• Storage: We use Chrome's local storage to save your Master Resume and your Pro License Key directly on your device. This specific data remains local to your browser and is not stored in any external database by us.
• Host Permissions (LinkedIn): The Extension requires permission to run on https://*.linkedin.com/*. This allows the Extension to read the Job Title and Job Description of the specific LinkedIn job posting you are viewing so it can compare it against your resume.
• Host Permissions (Backend Integration): The Extension communicates with our secure backend servers to validate License Keys and securely transmit your resume and the job description to our AI provider.

3. How We Use Your Information

The data collected is used solely to provide the Extension's functionality.

• Resume & Job Data: When you click an AI feature, your locally saved Master Resume and the scraped LinkedIn Job Description are sent securely to a third-party Language Model API (Google Gemini) to generate your tailored bullets, ATS score, and cover letter.
• License Verification: If you enter a Pro License Key, it is securely transmitted to our backend to verify your purchase status.

CRITICAL DISCLOSURE: We do NOT use your data to train our own AI models. We do NOT sell, rent, or trade your personal data to any third parties for marketing or advertising purposes. We do not maintain a database of your resumes or the jobs you apply for.

4. Chrome Web Store Compliance

In accordance with the Google Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, we affirm the following:

• We do not sell your data to third parties.
• We do not use or transfer your data for purposes that are unrelated to the Extension's core functionality.
• We do not use or transfer your data to determine creditworthiness or for lending purposes.

5. Data Retention & Security

Any resume and job data processed by the Extension is done in real-time. We do not store a history of the web pages you visit or the text you process on our own external servers. Data stored in your browser's local storage (like your Master Resume and License Key) can be cleared by you at any time by uninstalling the Extension or clearing your browser data.
